Womans Hospital is Hiring a Neonatal Environmental Support Tech - NICU - Evenings Near Baton Rouge, LA

As a Level III Regional Referral Center, Woman’s is part of a select group of hospitals in the nation who can provide quality care for the smallest and sickest babies. Our unit is designed to focus on intensive care, while encouraging family bonding. Our designation as a Level III Regional Referral Center means we have a neonatologist and anesthesiologist available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our caring team of neonatologists and specially trained nurses monitor the baby’s condition at all times by direct observation, and by using the latest specialized equipment and technology available. We also participate in the Vermont Oxford Quality Improvement Collaborative with 500 other NICUs across the country to keep abreast of the latest research and emerging practices that offer the best care for premature and critically ill babies.

Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in either health care environmental services or sterile processing preferred
  • Experience working in environmental services highly preferred
  • Experience working with medical documentation and devices highly preferred

Responsibilities of the Neonatal Environmental Support Tech position include, but are not limited to:

  • Adheres to company/department policies regarding safety regulations. Reads and understands the technical manuals for equipment operations and manufacturer recommended cleaning guidelines.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment daily and ensures all stored equipment is kept free of dust.
  • Ensures equipment is charged and properly set up prior to delivery in the equipment and resuscitation rooms.
  • Provides assistance and training to other employees in the unit when necessary.
  • Assists the Equipment Coordinator with routine preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure the equipment is in accordance with company policies and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Assists with ensuring all equipment, headwalls, patient beds and any other necessary equipment is wiped down daily in each patient room.
  • Follows proper cleaning and safety procedures as needed to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Prioritizes work daily upon arrival including equipment, equipment processing rooms, parent lounges, etc.
  • Executes equipment cleaning, equipment cleaning verification and general equipment maintenance. Ensures that any issues with equipment are reported immediately to the Equipment Coordinator.
  • Checks and keeps logs of routine scheduled maintenance: incubators to be changed, filters, etc.
  • Coordinates with and assists the RNs, Neonatal Care Techs and EVS on room turnovers.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

$11.41 - $16.12
