Our Construction Professional & Pollution Liability team offers Professional & Pollution Legal Liability coverage to North America’s Contractors and Specialty Trade buyers who may also have a global exposure. As a result, our construction underwriting team will tailor the buyer’s policy to fit each client’s unique needs.Our North America Construction underwriting team is looking to add an Underwriting Manager / Team Leader, with a specific focus on insurance product line management and oversight, to our current Professional & Pollution Liability Unit. Using your underwriting expertise, you will tailor effective solutions for our current and prospective clients while partnering with dedicated industry experts who have an average of 15 years of construction industry risk management experience. DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include?· Marketing to producers to secure new and renewal business. · Reviewing of applications, terms and conditions, financials, and loss history and conducting appropriate research to determine the degree of risk for each account based upon company Professional & Pollution Liability Regulations and Guidelines and underwriting authority granted. · Coordinating with varied business divisions including Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance, Accounting, Marketing, Regulatory and others internally that support our businesses.· Determining quote or declination of risk. · Calculating rates and premium charges using approved rating models.· Developing and modifying policy wording in accordance with delegated underwriting authority when the standard forms are not appropriate.· Actively cross-sell afforded products and services. · Supporting service standards in delivery of professional and pollution liability construction products and services. · Lead a team of experts in a policy form rewrite coordinating with all applicable stakeholders.· Develop and lead a process for periodic policy form updates, and associated endorsements to policy wording when the standard forms are not appropriate.· Maintain a catalogue of manuscript endorsements and usage. Make recommendations on when to include as standard endorsements or include in base policy language.· Effectively mentoring and motivating underwriters and other integral members of our team. · Additional tasks/projects as determined by business needs. Your management responsibilities will include:· Effectively mentoring, supervising and motivating team underwriters, while working with underwriting assistants and other integral members of your team. · Team portfolio management regarding limit deployment, attachment point aggregation, pricing adequacy and policy terms and conditions. · Leadership and involvement in special projects as assigned by senior management. You will report to the Profit Center Head of the Unit. SHARE your talentWe’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:· Moderate to Extensive years of Commercial Underwriting Experience, preferably Professional & Pollution Liability specific. · In-depth underwriting expertise as it relates to solutions for construction managers, general contractors, trade contractors, environmental contractors, architects and engineers to contribute to the underwriting of the full range of Construction Professional accounts. · Work independently with the ability to be an open-minded team player with a willingness to actively listen to comprehend unique circumstances that require practical and unique solutions to complex issues. · Effective insured and broker interaction with the ability to effectively target current and prospective contacts in order to effectively promote offered products. · Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with both internal teams and external brokers as you will work in a team environment, assisting underwriters and / or deal administrators as part of their overall responsibility. · Outstanding organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills. · Excellent Microsoft office suite Skiils· Bachelor’s Degree required with advanced education and / or professional designations including but not limited to CPCU, IIA, CRIS preferred but not required.· Willingness to travel (up to 25% travel as necessary) FIND your futureAXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks.
