Unicity USA Inc is Hiring a Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) Near Las Vegas, NV

SUMMARY

This position will focus on supervising and performing Production functions to assure the production of manufactured product and processes along with providing leadership to support departments on 3rd shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises key production functions at all stages of productions.
  • Supervises the training of production staff.
  • Reports to Production Manager on any products, which do not conform to product specifications.
  • Works with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Production Supervisor, Manager or designee will communicate with production management the resolution of any discrepancy.
  • Interfaces with other departments, including personnel, to communicate production needs and gather information as needed.
  • Coordinates the use of packaging components, raw materials and finished goods.
  • Supervises production personnel.
  • Provides services or duties as requested by Production Manager and/or Operations Manager or appropriate departments within company policies and guidelines.
  • Works with Quality on production issues.
  • Manage and oversee production staff and all day-to-day manufacturing activities.?
  • Work directly with production staff, hands on, training staff on machinery usage and maintenance.? Partner with other discipline managers to identify key training, critical experiences and developmental opportunities for individuals and teams.
  • Lead and ensure that all manufacturing production, shipping, and fulfillment activities are executed safely and in compliance with Unicity’s Total Quality requirements and meet all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the execution of consistent and quality products- while driving reliability centered manufacturing operations.? Communicate all potential issues with the quality department and implement recommended changes.
  • Learn the proper operation and adjustment techniques of all production machinery, and train production staff on machinery usage.? Develop and prepare SOPs and reports to improve efficiency output while reducing waste and other costs. ?
  • Lead and own strategic implementation results of operational efficiency programs.? Champion a culture that: builds, operates and maintains a world class facility that is operationally sound, safe and efficient.
  • Develop plans, and deliver results, in a fast-changing business and regulatory environment while leading, developing, and coaching a team. Make decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. Collaborate with corporate leadership to ensure that staff selections align with current and future business needs.
  • Work with the Corporate Leadership developing and executing production schedules.
  • Identify infrastructure requirements necessary to achieve exceptional product quality level/operational excellence as well as to meet local regulations
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises Production personnel and 3rd shift support departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. It may also include helping with interviewing and hiring.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Able to work with, inspire and create consensus with a group to cooperatively achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership of RCI for significant unplanned events.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Four years of supervisory experience.?
  • Mechanically inclined.? Good understanding of process flows and process development.
  • Nutraceutical and/or dry bulk material manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with GMPs guidelines.?
  • Operations and budget planning experience.
  • Operational excellence knowledge: TPM, Six Sigma, 5S

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in a science or equivalent professional development, and/or 4 years experience working within a production environment in dietary supplement or other regulated industry in a leadership role.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak, write and understand effectively in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to prioritize projects and recognize deficiencies in paperwork. Decision making abilities required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work independently and make decisions.

Must be able to interact with personnel from all departments of the company

Proficient with computers using Windows and Microsoft office.

Industry experience preferred including GMPs.

Must be able to enter data accurately.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands or fingers to handle or feel or reach. May be required to walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch, talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit or climb. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or may require lifting, pulling or pushing of up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
