Job Description
La Jolla Vein & Vascular brings together board-certified experts in Vascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology to provide the most advanced treatments for vascular disorders of the legs, feet and pelvis. Our comprehensive vascular center is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team. Our clinic, with locations in La Jolla on the Scripps Memorial Campus (XIMED building) and in Vista, is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of patients who suffer from vascular conditions, including chronic venous insufficiency, DVT, chronic leg edema, leg ulcers, and peripheral arterial disease. 
Position is Monday, Wednesday & Friday in La Jolla, from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities:
  • Measures and records vital signs, patient medical history and chief complaints
  • Educate patients on management of diagnosis, treatments
  • Prepares patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
  • Assists physician with exams
  • Prepares injections with physician authorization
  • Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments
  • Maintains clean facility, rooms and waiting area
  • Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned
  • Perform first aid procedures

Other Responsibilities:
  • Follows company and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Follows company's protocol
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
  • Upholds HIPAA regulations
  • Reliability and punctuality is a must

Position Requirements:
  • High school graduate - Required
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish- Preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certificate/CPR Certificate - Required
  • EKG knowledge - Preferred
  • One (1) or more years Medical Assistant experience in the corresponding setting - Preferred
  • Federal and State required credentials current and on file
  • Able to read and write consistent with job requirements; cognitive skills as related to the position Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds - Required
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time - Required
