United Tribes Technical College is Hiring an Admissions Advisor Near Bismarck, ND

Position Title: Admissions Advisor
Department: Enrollment Services
Salary: $16.00 -DOQ

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution of higher education required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Career Services, or related field required.
  • ND Driver’s License and insurable

Summary of Duties:

  • Counsels and advises students and families about educational opportunities, admission, transfer of credit, financial assistance, and university policies and requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a student-centered, enrollment learning experience for prospective and new students.
  • Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.
  • Participates in school visits and college programs for prospective freshmen; coordinates on-site admissions at high schools; represents the college in its recruitment efforts and in providing special outreach services in the community and state.
  • Creates and ensures equitable recruitment and admission practices, processes, and procedures in the transitions of students into the higher education environment.
  • Works on a registration deadline, strive towards college-wide enrollment goals and use outstanding customer service to recruit students to the College’s programs.
  • Collaborates with Financial Aid staff on the scholarship awarding and student notification process.
  • Attends training sessions to receive updated information about new programs, services, educator licensure requirements, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, and to arrange information sessions, set appointments and promote the College in a positive manner.
  • Collaborates with financial aid, College Relations, and other areas of the college in the timely, accurate and appropriate development and dissemination of information and admissions materials.
  • Establishes an environment of equity, sensitivity, understanding and respect for the diversity, inclusion of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Participates in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and exemplary customer service skills in interactions with students, colleagues and the UTTC community, without exception.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal working hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday
  • one-hour unpaid break

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Occasionally move about inside an office and classroom
  • Operate a computer and other office/classroom equipment.
  • Occasionally move, transport, or position up to 10 pounds.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • May need to ascend/descend stairs.

  • Ability to approach and speak with all potential student applicants.
  • Ability to see potential recruitment opportunities and generate creative ideas.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
