Responsibilities

1st Shift - 7:00 am - 3:00 pm - Monday through Friday 

Starting Pay $23.95/hr 

Pay Grade 135

MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA is hiring for a Production Technician I - Gas Mixing for our manufacturing plant. 

The responsibilities of this position are primarily to:

  • The primary role for this position is to blend refrigerant gasses into cylinders, using gravitational scales, and corresponding predefined Excel spreadsheet calculations.
  • Handle gas cylinders and verify gas mix accuracies using a gas sensing device.
  • Assemble and test (including set-up), moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering.
  • May be required to pick parts from the warehouse.
  • Produce customized instruments to customer specifications (assemble to order).
  • Package and ship instruments according to customer specifications.
  • Generate delivery notes and determine method of shipping.
  • Transfer material to shipping dock.
  • Perform visual inspections and minor repairs and rework.
  • Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input information in computer system.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Ability to understand standard units of measure and set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform standard software operations including UPS.
  • Must attain ability to perform complex SAP transactions.
  • Ability to infrequently stand in a stationary position and lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to regularly perform work that requires magnification.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools, custom tooling and to operate a pallet jack.
  • Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and prioritize and organize work.
  • Must attain Hazardous Material certification.
  • Operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work on various product groups and work flexible shifts.
  • Ability to wear ANSI Z87 approved safety glasses and other PPE as required per Job Safety Analysis.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 months electronics manufacturing or other related experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Past soldering experience
