Idlewire Pet Care is Hiring a Lodging Department Manager Near Ogden, UT

Job Posting: Lodging Manager

Idlewire Pet Care is a family owned dog and cat care facilities in Ogden, UT. We are seeking a full-time manager who is knowledgeable about pets, customer service oriented, enthusiastic and hard-working. Candidates purpose would be to assist in overseeing the overall operation of our lodging department. The lodging manager would report directly to the GM. The Assistant Lodging Manager and department staff will report to this position.

Lodging Manager Duties & Responsibilities

Pay

Up to $23/hour cumulative wage, including tips and performance bonus.

The job generally requires the ability to perform the following duties:

  • Coordinating and overseeing operations for the lodging department that houses dogs and cats (occasionally rabbits!)
  • Hiring, training (Humanity, CPR/First Aid, To-Do List, IBPSA) and supervising other Animal Care Givers.
  • Assisting in creating work schedules
  • Assist in Developing and enforcing lodging policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing employee training and industry care standards
  • Offer a high level of customer service and speak with customers about pet issues.
  • Scheduling and coordinate boarding/daycare appointments.
  • Ensuring runs, and the overall facility is cleaned and safe on a regular basis
  • Ensuring the guests are fed, exercised, medicated and generally cared for as scheduled.
  • Monitoring the behavior of guests, adding notes when necessary and reporting any issues to Derek or Julie

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Personally perform all tasks of lodging attendant proficiently on a daily basis. This includes but is not limited to the following: Cleaning, Dishes, washing, Mopping, Vacuuming, Laundry, Feeding, Medicating, Deep Cleaning Tasks, exercising pets etc.
  • Supervise and act as a role model to all staff by leading by example. i.e. providing a high level of service for pets and owners while maintaining a professional attitude/behavior.
  • Lead, Oversee and Delegate to staff while remembering to follow up to ensure quality control.
  • Work as the team leader to ensure a high quality of animal welfare is maintained.
  • Cross train as a front desk agent and be available to assist/cover as needed
  • Use patience and understanding in order to mentor, assist & teach employees.
  • Detail-oriented to manage quality control in the facility.
  • Exhibit honesty, discretion and sound judgment.
  • Promote positive work morale by maintaining a positive outlook on short term/long term goals.
  • Display a genuine liking for people and pets with a desire to make the customer experience and employee work experience pleasant and welcoming.
  • Maintain composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.
  • Manage and Coordinate the daily operation of the facility with a hands-on approach.
  • Give professional and friendly tours to current and potential clients
  • Encourage adherence to policies and procedures of the business.
  • Participate in Bi-weekly scheduling while being conscientious of appropriate payroll costs.
  • Create and deliver performance reviews, verbal warnings and write-ups.
  • Participate and prepare material for MONTHLY Meetings.
  • Come up with new projects/ideas to create a more efficient, clean and safe workplace
  • Provide excellent customer service with a smile.
  • Ensure all guest paperwork is complete, information is up to date in computer and boarding sheets are accurate with pet belonging and instructions for stay.
  • Ensure all pets are fed, medicated, watered, exercised, clean (both pet and belongings) and in good health.

The following Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience are required for this job title:

  • Flexible Availability. MUST be Able to work any shift and must be available weekends and holidays.
  • Must have experience with dogs and cats of all breeds and ages
  • Must genuinely enjoy taking care of animals and putting their well-being first.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with desktop applications (ProPet, Humanity, Microsoft etc.)
  • Proactive in growing our customer base and applying selling strategies. (Retail knowledge)
  • Strong problem solver that excels in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Possess high energy, enthusiasm and maintain a persistent mind-set

Pay: $19.32 - $23.27 per hour
