Your Educational Expedition:

• Cultural Curator: Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that cover a wide range of social studies topics, from ancient civilizations to modern global issues.
• Critical Thinking Coach: Encourage students to analyze, question, and debate historical and contemporary issues, developing their abilities to think critically and articulate their ideas clearly.
• Innovative Instructor: Utilize a variety of teaching methods and digital tools to make social studies relevant and exciting for middle school students.
• Student Advocate: Guide students in understanding their role in the community and the world, encouraging active participation and civic engagement.
• Collaborative Educator: Work closely with colleagues within and across departments to create interdisciplinary learning experiences that deepen students’ understanding of social studies and its connections to their lives.

We're Seeking a Teacher Who:

• Holds a passion for social studies with a degree in History, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
• Has experience (preferred but not required) engaging middle school students in thoughtful, meaningful learning about social studies.
• Demonstrates creativity and flexibility in teaching approaches, capable of capturing the interest and imagination of young adolescents.
• Possesses strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to foster a classroom environment that is both respectful and intellectually stimulating.
• Is committed to ongoing professional development and innovation in teaching practices.
