GRTC Transit System is Hiring a Marketing Intern Near Richmond, VA
Job Description
Definition:
Under direction, performs a variety of coordinative, administrative support, and related activities to support the GRTC’s outreach and special event programs; serves as staffing coordinator and coordinates logistics for outreach and special events; educates, informs, and answers questions at community outreach events; designs, creates, and uploads visual and written content to the GRTC’s website; performs clerical and office support functions; and performs related work as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend community events as a representative of GRTC and become an advocate of our mission and programs
- Educate the community on GRTC’s services and upcoming programs
- Foster partnerships with community businesses and organizations
- Assist in outreach to serve the community by developing and presenting new programs and demonstrations for audiences of diverse ages and learning abilities
- Assists with the development, planning, organizing, and coordinating engaging programs for various age groups.
- Assists in maintaining supply inventory for all programs or activities.
- Participates in arranging meetings and recruiting speakers to inform the community about GRTC’s program goals
- Coordinate, schedule, set-up, and staff information booths and/or presentations at community events.
- Place orders, stock, and maintain inventory of office supplies, brochures, and publicity materials.
- Assist with field outreach and operational campaigns including mosquito surveillance campaigns in district neighborhoods.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills
- Strength in promoting and recruiting people of all ages for the program
- Be a member of the partnering community
- Knowledge and an understanding of the partnering community, e.g., community connectedness, idiosyncrasies
- Be comfortable with engaging local leaders, businesses, and the community
- Strong public presentation skills
