Boys & Girls Club of South County is Hiring a Group Leader Near Imperial, CA

Directly responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the Extended Learning program in the South Bay Union School District. Assist in the supervision of activities for elementary school aged children enrolled at the site with the primary concerns for implementing program curriculum; general supervision of members; and customer service; membership tracking; promotion/marketing; and facility maintenance Implementation of Program —carry out curriculum of core areas and enrichments as determined by the SBUSD; must be able to facilitate and actively participate in group activities; follow structured daily schedule; distribute snack according to policy• Supervision of Members — establish and maintain a fun, safe, and positive environment conducive to youth development; members will be supervised at all times; all children are checked in and out according to procedure; set fair and reasonable rules; recognize member participation and achievement.• Customer Service- welcome and acknowledge all members and visitors; provide responsive and helpful assistance to visitors; must be able to effectively communicate with children, parents , and school personnel• Membership Tracking — ensure all members complete the membership application; input members in the Cityspan program; issue membership cards; generate attendance reports• Promote /Market — prominently display program information throughout the site, ensure all program and organizational literature is distributed at the school and throughout the community. Newsletters are created and distributed monthly. Will be expected to foster partnerships with the community members and organizations.• Facility Maintenance — overall appearance of the site, conducts daily housekeeping duties and safety checks, minor maintenance is performed promptly, other repairs are reported, evacuation and emergency procedures are posted Knowledge and use of BGCA.NET; Knowledge of Cityspan program; Planning of site special events; CPR/1st Aid Certified• Must complete 15 hours of professional development & Other duties as required/assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Prior experience is preferred but not required. Must be able to work with minimal supervision with considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs. A high school degree from an accredited educational institution is required. Must complete 48 college units or pass the district competency exam. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Possess the physical requirements, strength, ability, and dexterity to lift a minimum of 50 pounds frequently throughout the work shift. Lifting will include tables, chairs and equipment COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to effectively deal with members, coworkers, school personnel and community. Ability to respond appropriately to inquires from professional contacts, staff, patrons, guests and donors. Ability to utilize active listening skills.LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and write reports, business correspondence, with the ability to interpret general periodicals, technical procedures, or operational manuals PROBLEM SOLVING SKILL Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Expected to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. Work requires the ability to prioritize work tasks and assignments
