POSITION OVERVIEW

District Managers understand how to lead leaders and develop a deep bench of talent. They can assess the key drivers of the business across a diverse portfolio of stores, solve problems and coach to drive results.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

District Managers lead change, build talent plans and pipeline, see trends across a diverse portfolio of cafés and put plans in place to improve performance of the portfolio. Develop, Train and hold Café Managers accountable to the following:

Business Analysis & Problem Solving

Café Managers understand how to achieve top priorities and identify problems that are a barrier to excellence

• Reviews café environments and key business indicators within the district to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement in order to provide coaching to the café management team to take action and achieve operational goals.
• Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting the café management team within the district to develop and implement action plans that meet operational and company objectives.
• Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in district performance.
• Manages through unusual events to keep district operating to standard.
• Optimize sales through sales mix analysis and sku rationalization, manages waste accordingly.

Prioritizing & Planning

Café Managers are prepared with plans in place to achieve established goals and space to adapt to the unexpected

• Creates district implementation plans to support execution of company initiatives to achieve both operational excellence and business results. Follows up consistently to ensure accountability to plans.
• Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates key responsibilities and practices to the café management team to ensure smooth flow of operations within the district.
• Monitors and manages district-wide management staffing levels. Ensures management-level employee development and talent acquisition in order to achieve and maintain district operational requirements.
• Solicits customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community.
• Maintains clean full cases merchandised with high performing skus across all day parts, following visual standards.

• Develops and maintains positive relationships with employees in the district by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs and concerns.

• Utilizes existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and filters communications to the café management team within the district. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective operations at the café and district level.

• Builds strong relationships with teams at Headquarters
• Accesses Headquarter resources to support district-wide operations and to execute district initiatives.

Coaching for Performance & Development

Café Managers have a development plan and District Managers spend time having meaningful coaching conversations that drive performance and build bench

• Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
• Manages district-wide café management team by regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve employee performance. Manages ongoing employee performance using performance management tools to support company objectives.
• Utilizes and demonstrates effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful team of café managers, resulting in an environment where employees are valued and respected.
• Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

• Café Division Director

SCHEDULE WORKED:

· Full time, on-site position, with primary work Monday-Friday business hours. Additional hours may be required.
