Role Purpose: The test lab manager ensures organizational initiatives, meeting operational goals in relation to safety, quality, on-time delivery of products, productivity, and continuous improvement activities.Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.Reports daily on department KPI’s along with other production metrics such as Health & Safety, Quality and 5S audits.Works with the production team to meet on time delivery to the customer. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Responsible for the coordination of test equipment builds as well as ATD integration assembly and testing in accordance with ISO 9001 & 17025.Promoting a safety-first work environment that maintains compliance with all company protocols while adhering State and Federal Laws and Regulations Maintain a cross-trained staff of technicians to maximize flexibility and reduce the impact of employee outages.Manages departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to management.Provide support to the engineering group as needed for prototyping, formulating/conducting test plans and DOEs. Ensures preventative maintenance tasks and equipment calibrations are performed in a timely fashion and in accordance with established protocols.Ensure work instructions are up to date and staff properly trained in a timely manner.Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance reviews; coaching employees; problem and conflict resolution.Other Significant Role Requirements: Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, routers, and procedure manuals.
