Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. This role will primarily focus on job cost reporting and managing budgeted costs on projects, ensuring financial performance and profitability targets are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems for accurate job cost reporting and analysis.
• Monitor project budgets and track actual costs to ensure adherence to budgeted targets.
• Prepare and analyze variance reports to identify areas of concern and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Participate in the development of project budgets and cost estimates, providing input on cost assumptions and risks.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain documentation of accounting procedures and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in cost accounting or project accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including job costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
