HighVista Strategies is a Boston-based investment firm with approximately $10 billion in assets under management and 70 employees. We were founded in 2004 and have been managing funds since 2005 for a variety of institutional investors including sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations and pension funds, as well as select family offices and private investors. We are led by a seasoned team that combines diverse investment experience and operational depth to provide the firm with robust capabilities in pursuing our investment mandate.

Job Description
We are actively seeking an entrepreneurial individual to support our growing private equity practice. HighVista has a deep history of investing in private equity, having raised ten previous funds and multiple separate accounts focused predominantly on the lower middle market. In this role, the successful candidate will gain access to a multitude of private equity strategies and investment types, including direct equity co-investments, primary fund investments, and secondary investments. The associate role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a knowledge of private equity and pursue a career in the industry.
Core responsibilities of the associate role include:
•Screening new investment opportunities
•Due diligence of investment opportunities
•Researching specific investment themes
•Preparation of investment recommendations

•Portfolio data analysis

•Financial modeling
•Monitoring existing investments and portfolios
•Staying up to date with private equity market trends
A successful candidate will need to work closely with team members on multiple opportunities across both our existing portfolio and investment pipeline. The associate role is expected to touch each part of the private equity universe while benefitting from the mentorship of the broader investment team.

Requirements
Qualifications
•2-5 years of investment or financial experience with a strong interest in investing in private equity
•Entrepreneurial spirit and team-player with the ability to work under the guidance of senior professionals
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated analytical abilities, specifically in finance and/or accounting
•Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
•Ability to build and nurture personal relationships with a diverse range of people
•Bachelor's degree or further education with a strong academic track record
•Robust work-ethic with a desire to learn
