Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Take and record vital signs of patients
- Perform patient assessments and document medical history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed
- Use aseptic technique to maintain a clean and safe environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a dental assistant program or relevant experience preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation
- Proficient in taking dental x-rays and using dental software systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
