Jeffrey Mansion Preschool, part of the City of Bexley, is a community-based preschool located in Bexley's Jeffrey Mansion. Our preschool provides opportunities for social/emotional growth and quality educational experiences.

Our staff consists of licensed and experienced teachers who believe each student has individual needs and attributes that must be nurtured, guided, and respected in an invigorating setting. We offer a child-centered curriculum, which follows the Preschool Standards set forth by the Ohio Department of Education. To ensure kindergarten readiness, daily lessons, experiences, and projects are conducive to all learning styles and include math, language, science, and fine arts. Students also have physical development opportunities on the playground in the beautiful 34-acre Jeffrey Park.

As part of our preschool staff, you'll:

• Design and implement engaging lesson plans, activities, and routines that promote children's development and promote a love of learning
• Assist in maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment by monitoring children during various activities, including playtime, meals, and rest.
• Engage with children through play, conversation, and hands-on learning to encourage their social and cognitive growth.
• Observe and document children's progress and behaviors, sharing this information with preschool colleagues and parents.
• Contribute to maintaining a well-organized and stimulating classroom setting, including helping with setup and cleanup.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure effective communication and teamwork within the preschool.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of all children.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
• Maintain predictable and reliable attendance

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of preschool education principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively educate and engage young children
- Experience in classroom management and creating a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of curriculum development for preschool-aged children
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents/guardians
- Experience working with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus
- Previous experience working as a Preschool Teacher or with young children
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

- Successful completion of a background check
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
