Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at AyZar Inc. as a Commercial Property Accounting Assistant. This role will provide essential support to our accounting department, focusing on the financial management of our commercial properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process invoices and payments for property-related expenses, including utilities, maintenance, taxes, and insurance.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Generate and distribute tenant invoices for rent, operating expenses, and other charges.
  • Monitor tenant accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments to ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports, analyses, and reconciliations as needed.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial properties.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for property-related expenses and revenues.
  • Prepare variance analyses and other financial reports to support decision-making.

Lease Administration:

  • Assist with lease administration tasks, including tracking lease expirations, rent escalations, and lease amendments.
  • Maintain lease files and documentation, ensuring compliance with lease terms and agreements.
  • Coordinate lease-related correspondence and communications with tenants and landlords.

General Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the accounting department, including filing, data entry, and document management.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as property management and leasing, to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Resourcefulness and self-management is key in this position
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or property management, preferably in the commercial real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temp-to-hire

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Schedule:

Ability to Relocate:

  • Santa Ana, CA: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
