Trailside Elementary is seeking qualified candidates for our Media Center Specialist position. This position is full time and benefit eligible.

Will start in July with the 2024/2025 school year.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide expertise in acquiring and evaluating information resources in all formats while bringing an awareness of information issues to teachers, administrators, students, and others.
2. Shows initiative by recommending policies, practices, and curricula that guide students to develop the full range of information/technology literacy skills under the direction of building leadership.
3. Provide strategies to students and others for locating, access, and evaluating information within and beyond the creative commons (Media Center).
4. Provide teachers and others links with curricular content, learning outcomes, student information needs, and information resources.
5. Work closely with individual teachers in the critical area of designing authentic learning tasks and integrating the information and communication abilities required to meet subject matter standards.
6. Manage the media book budget and audio visual budget to determine book, equipment, supply and software needs for the library. This includes meeting with sales reps or locating materials in catalogs, preparing the purchase orders, ordering items, receiving items and tracking backorders.
