Description

Salary Range: $46,000-$49,500.00 annually

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days from home and 3 days on-site

United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring an Associate Donor Relations to join our team. As Associate Donor Relations you will provide stewardship and donor relations support to United Way’s fundraising efforts to encourage long term relationships and ensure positive and high quality interactions with existing donors as well as support the development staff in cultivating prospects to help them increase the number of donors to.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with fundraisers to create annual donor relations plan and supports team in carrying out individual plans that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.
  • Manages Tocqueville Society Member relations efforts and tracking, building relationships with the United Way’s top donors including Five Million and One Million Dollar Round Table
  • Work with United Way events team and marketing team to plan the Annual Grand Reception event
  • Works with various departments to produce the annual Red Book
  • Communicate on behalf of VP of Major and Planned gifts as required
  • Lead execution of all Tocqueville Society Events to further engage and cultivate new and existing relationships including:
  • Meet with internal staff to plan and execute 
  • leading event planning meetings
  • maintaining event calendar and disseminate as appropriate
  • help select, negotiate with, and contract with venue and vendors as appropriate
  • manage all communications – invitations, rsvps, collateral materials, signage, etc.
  • work with sponsors to activate benefits deck
  • Monitor event expenses when applicable
  • Set event planning timelines and communicate appropriately
  • Manage day of set up and clean up with support of administrators as required
  • Supervise day of run of show
  • Uses Andar to track fundraiser’s donor relations activities
  • Provide administrative functions as related to donor relations including compose/draft letters; set up appointments; schedule meetings; conduct research as needed
  • Coordinate with finance department on donor relations related billing and collections as appropriate
  • Support external, internal and special events and activities including attending meetings, and events
  • Manage promotional items selection, ordering, and inventory
  • Work with researcher to prepare event briefings for major gift fundraisers.
  • Provide telephone support for the team that includes but is not limited to answering calls, recording and delivering accurate messages, referring complaints and requests for information to appropriate staff and following up as needed.
  • Actively respond to donor inquiries, calls and emails while keeping assigned fundraiser appraised of any issues.
  • Work with Development professional for the creation and execution of various donor stewardship events. Create and maintain the stewardship calendar and engage Development professional on action items. 
  • Exercises independent judgement when making decisions on administrative matters. Originates new concepts, ideas and approaches to more effective and efficient way of working 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience Requirements: One to three years’ experience preferably in administration experience in donor relations, events, development, non-profit marketing, or other related fields. 

Technology Requirements: Advanced Word, Excel, Outlook, and Andar and Internet Explorer.

Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills required. Ability to function in a team environment. Spanish language not a requirement but helpful.
