Job DescriptionManufacturing / Controls Engineer Primary Purpose:With minimal direction, this position is responsible for standardizingand managing the Global battery acid fill, formation, testing, preparation forshipment, and separation for distribution process. Primary Duties:Develops new equipmentand processes for battery filling, formation and cleaning. Develops new equipmentand processes for movement, storage, and internal distribution of batteries. Will also work on creating decoration and forshipment in accordance with current engineering standards and qualityrequirements.Collaborates withmanufacturing facilities to implement new processes and equipment. Executes designvalidation builds, prototype builds, and production validation builds andtesting. Manages Manufacturing Engineeringprojects to scope, on time and within budget requirements.Develop and expand onexisting technologies to address immediate production needs. Drive global standardization. Investigate and propagate Best BusinessPractices for Power Solutions. Specific technology workmay developing, expanding, or modifying: battery filling, acid evacuation,high-rate discharge, leakage testers, laser marking, vision systems, automaticor semi-automatic label application, robotic applications, material handlingsystems, automated assembly or decoration equipmentWorks within company ERPto verify or modify specific data such as decoration bill of materials, palletpatterns and quantities.Participates andoccasionally leads Process flow diagram and PFMEA reviewsWorks within matrix organization to deliverrequirements of 1PLUS Program Management system QualificationsQualificationsBachelor degree or higherin an engineering discipline required, Mechanical, Electrical or ComputerScience Engineering preferred. Minimum six years ofexperience in manufacturing environment designing and troubleshootingequipment.Previous experience withPackaging or Material Handling equipment highly desired. Should be considered anexpert in industrial controls.
