***Pay range is $45 to $55 per hour***
POSITION SUMMARY: The commercial solar service technician responsibilities will include actively performing preventative and corrective maintenance including inverter rebuilds, electrical troubleshooting and repair, and system communication needs of distributed solar and energy storage systems.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Complete day-to-day operational service activities.
• Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove, and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.
• Responded to outages and performance degradation alerts generated by customer solar PV arrays
• Work with Service Manager to perform remote troubleshooting and diagnostics with customers to attempt to identify root causes and gauge scope of work prior to responding to job location.
• Conduct solar preventive maintenance (O&M). Conducted O&M inspections, and complete documentation needed to generate customer-facing O&M inspection reports.
• Coordinates with warehouse staff supplies needed for operational and maintenance activities, assists in the unloading and checking-in of material.
• Complete written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.
• Assist with special solar projects; conduct shutdowns and line side taps, as needed.
• Complete training as required by law and assigned by management.
• Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
• Perform operational tasks, as assigned.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• **Must have and maintain a current State of California Journeyman Electrician certificate**
• Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
• Knowledge of Solar PV, to include mechanical installation experience.
• Able to recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers, and the protection of the public.
• Professional appearance and strong customer service.
• Must have a strong work ethic and be a person of integrity.
• Problem solver, and a can-do attitude.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must have outstanding ability to manage and motivate others.
• Experience in reading and interpreting manual, blueprint drawings, and control system drawings.
• Frequent overnight travel required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must successfully pass a background check.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education :
High school diploma or GED required. Valid California Journeyman Electrician certificate.
Experience :
3 years' solar PV and/or electrical experience required. 3 years' service engagement experience. NABCEP, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or SolarEdge certification a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and present reports. Regularly required to see, speak, and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Frequently work on ladders for extended periods of time with hands and arms at heights. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and be able to move equipment and/or materials while climbing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. When performing duties outside the small home-based business office environment, the noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
