Stellar Snacks is Hiring a Food Manufacturing Machine Operator Near Carson, NV

Stellar Snacks, est. 2019, is a premier pretzel manufacturer, founded by Elisabeth and Gina Galvin, who are the first and only lady bosses baking pretzels and roasting nuts in the United States. Along with our brilliant team, and combined experience of over 200 years in manufacturing, we bake our snacks from scratch daily right here in Carson City, Nevada.

We are excited to be growing our manufacturing team and currently seeking experienced Machine Operators who want to help us create delicious snacks and get them into the hands of people all over the country. Our team members take pride in their work, lead by example, and uphold the highest levels of safety, quality, and service.

As a Machine Operator, you will be part of the operational team and ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous flow of our packaging machines so we can meet our customers' demands!

What does a day as a Machine Operator look like?

  • Execute daily production plan including but not limited to: machine setups, troubleshooting, changeovers, proper running, procedural adjustments, sanitation cleanup, preventative maintenance and shutdown
  • Monitors product appearance and adheres to weight control program.
  • Properly accounts for product run off and handles this product accordingly; sorts through and reworks all good product
  • Monitors and adjusts each machine to ensure proper cut off of film and bags have proper end seals and back seals as required.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of roll stock and ensures all packaging materials are available for each machine.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be fluent in English, bilingual strongly preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States, we participate in E-Verify
  • Ability to work (4) 12-hour shifts per week (Sun- Wed or Wed- Sat)
  • Ability to work the following hours: Days: 6:00AM - 6:30PM or Nights: 6:00PM - 6:30AM
  • Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 35 pounds without assistance
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, comprehend, and execute required safety protocols, instructions, and training in English
  • Ability to read production schedule instructions
  • Ability to set up and write programs for bag makers
  • Ability to edit machine micro logic to ensure low waste operation
  • Ability to create and modify code dates
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on equipment; make minor repairs
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to read and write numbers, letters, and comprehend packaging instructions
  • Ability to perform tasks with manual dexterity
  • Ability to meet regular, predictable, and reliable attendance requirements at the assigned work location for the entire shift with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures, from hot to cold

Essential Physical Demands & Environmental Factors:

  • Constantly: Standing, listening, speaking, and hearing to exchange information; using dexterity of hands for use with operating levers, knobs, or settings on required equipment, handling product or packaging materials and tools required to perform the job; climb, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Rarely: Sitting
  • Frequently: Lifting up to 35 lbs. unassisted, Walking
  • Vision Abilities: Close and distance vision. Ability to adjust focus working with business equipment such as a scanner or package labels. adjust focus working with equipment; be aware of hazards and dangers found in the nature of the work
  • Frequent exposure to varying facility temperatures that range from cold to hot.
  • Noise level can be moderate to high throughout the facility.
