Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including drafting and editing contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Review and summarize legal documents and case files
- Assist in the preparation of trial materials, including exhibits and witness lists
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as directed by attorneys
- Assist with case management tasks, such as calendaring deadlines and scheduling meetings
- Participate in client meetings and conferences
- Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, managing emails, and organizing office supplies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate legal documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures is preferred
- Experience with legal drafting is a plus
