The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family... is Hiring a Registered Nurse - Child's Way (Full-Time) Near Pittsburgh, PA

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for Child's Way, our daycare center for medically fragile children.
Child's Way operates from 6:30 am - 5:30 pm and is closed on weekends and holidays. This individual will work four 10 hour shifts per week.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Child's Way, according to established Child's Way policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse provides and manages patient care services for families, physicians, and other health care professionals who are served by the program. Coordinates care and services to children and their families from the first day of admission until the day of discharge from Child's Way. Collaborates with Primary Care Physician (PCP) and other services providers to provide optimal care and service for assigned children and families. Promotes knowledge, leadership, and team participation within the organization in the effort to offer excellence in care and service to children and families in the program.

Other Qualifications

MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Current Pennsylvania RN License

2. Two or more years of pediatric nursing experience.

3. Current CPR certification, OSHA training and knowledge.

4. Act 33/34, FBI fingerprint and National Sex Offender Registry clearances.

5. Computer literacy, preferably in a Windows environment

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Strong clinical knowledge of common neonatal and pediatric disorders and syndromes. Ability to synthesize clinical issues of child in conjunction with the social issues of the family. Demonstrated ability to remain abreast of ongoing pediatric and neonatal clinical advances.

2. Analytical ability necessary to enact the nursing process according to the functional developmental level of the child and family. Proficient aptitude to integrate patient related data from various sources into the plan of care and appraisal of condition.

3. Knowledge of growth and development for the assessment of and interaction with patients and families. Able to recognize developmental deviation(s) and integrate information into updated plan of care.

4. Teaching skills essential to supporting the educational and information needs of children and families.

5. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with patients, families, medical personnel and other members of the professional community. Ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the health care team, as well as the health care and human services community. Strong history of customer service excellence.

6. Strong ability to function within a team environment. Leadership skills necessary to provide direction and support to other members of the Child's Way team. Ability to mentor other health care professionals and team members, as appropriate.
