Strom Minnesota is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our client in Brooklyn Park, MN. The hours for this position are 7:am-4:pm M-F.
Maintenance Technician
Reports directly to: Compliance Manager
Job Summary:
Support manufacturing to assure that all plating and chemical processes are maintained within acceptable, established parameters, and maintaining all facilities equipment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work cooperatively with production supervisors and quality personnel to troubleshoot production line issues. Supervise assistance from suppliers in product application and problem solving.
· Working knowledge of HVAC and Make-Up Air Units.
· Boilers license is preferred. Or the ability to get a boilers license.
· Plumbing with both copper and CPVC and PVC pipe.
· Strong electrical skills.
· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production and facilities equipment.
· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of all facilities equipment .
· Perform mechanical skill including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, troubleshooting and repair of facilities equipment.
· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
· Perform regular preventative maintenance on facilities equipment.
· Perform a variety of plumbing and carpentry functions.
· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
· Order parts and maintain required documents
· Maintains the maintenance shop as a clean and organized area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Ability to maintain a regular and reliable attendance record.
· Ability to manage multiple jobs at the same time.
· Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
· Ability to lift and move 1-75 lbs. as needed.
· Ability to interact with co-workers and supervisors in a cooperative manner.
· Ability to work independently with no supervision
· .Ability to fix or maintain basic electrical equipment or outlets.
Equipment Used:
· Required safety equipment—glasses, aprons, boots, face shields and gloves as needed.
· Ladders and scaffolding to reach high places.
· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
Working Conditions:
· Often wet or humid due to heated cleaning and plating tanks containing caustic, cyanide and acidic solutions.
· Noise level is moderate- no hearing protection required.

· Speech/hearing- constantly; communicating with co-workers and supervisors
Education or Training:
· Minimum of 5 years related maintenance experience required.
· High School Diploma or GED.
