Spokane Hardware Supply is Hiring a Project Estimator Near Spokane, WA

FUNCTION:  Division 8 Estimator is responsible for compiling all plans and specification to accurately produce a competitive number for the material needed to supply Doors, Frames and Hardware for any specified project. This includes working with factory reps and vendors to secure the best pricing available.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL Division 8 Hardware & Hollow Metal Estimator: Customer service mentality, great attitude, able to communicate, good organizational skills and capable of multitasking.

WORKS REGULARLY WITH: Commercial sales team, Factories and Factory reps, Architects, Consultants, and Contractors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyzing required documents, blueprints and project specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
  • Managing bids from vendors
  • Follow up on submitted bids to see outcome
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with contractors, architects, and consultants via telephone and email regarding bid requests.
  • Occasionally help with general public and walk in customers to assist in their needs when others are not available to do so.
  • Enter and place orders for customers
  • Communicate and work with project managers that are assigned to awarded projects
  • Have briefing and debriefing meetings on projects with project manager and Division 8 manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and understand written and oral instructions
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds or more regularly
  • Ability to sit at a desk and utilize a computer for 8 hours each day
  • College Degree, Preferred Construction Management

or

(High school Diploma and or more of the following)

  • A minimum of one year experience in sales
  • A minimum of one year in the hardware, construction, or distribution industries

Preferred:

  • Division 8 doors, frames, and hardware experience

COMPETENCIES:

  • PC and software proficiency for data entry and utilization of sales programs
  • Product and application knowledge, including the ability to read and comprehend manufacturer specifications
  • Perform basic mathematical functions in the course of sales and customer support
  • Familiarity with construction methods and practices
  • Read a tape measure efficiently
