The Role Responsibilities

Business
  • Required to perform all product, service and investigation-related operational activities necessary to satisfactorily process payment inquiries for transactions completed through US$ demand accounts of SCB-NY Clients and the USD Clearing Systems (CHIPS, FED).
  • Must process all aspects of case management and correspondence for transactions involving parties with whom SCB cannot transact due to prohibitions arising from external regulations (OFAC, OFSI) or internal policies (AML or fraud prevention).
Processes

Through CERS, provide timely, accurate and complete responses to customer enquiries or information requests from transaction counterparties within committed turnaround times.
In an accurate, timely, and confidential manner, process all aspects of case management for any referred transactions or potential transactions involving one or more entities with whom SCB is prohibited from doing business by either government regulations (e.g., OFSI, OFAC) or internal policy (e.g. AML, fraud prevention).

The case management activities include case opening, correspondence with internal parties and external clients or government agencies, seizure, or rejection of a payment, or requesting additional information to enable clarification of the identity of one or more of the transaction parties and / or clarification of the nature of the transaction (Request for Information-RFI).

Monitor and observe repetitive inquiries and conduct root cause analyses of the underlying reasons for the repetition of the inquiry. Propose potential solutions for the root causes.

Governance
  • Maintain a current awareness and complete understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures and comply fully with those laws, regulations, AML policies and procedures relative to the transactions processed through SCB NY client accounts.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Associates degree or higher in Business.
  • 5 years of payment or Investigation experience.
  • Knowledge of Swift, Chips, FED Clearing Systems and understanding of ISO-MX payment system.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, EBBS, MTS.
  • Familiar with Business AML, OFAC and OFSI procedures.
  • Familiar with BAFT compensation rules.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is $62,158 USD to $68,900 USD The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
