Southport Engineered Systems is Hiring a Lead Estimator Near Caledonia, WI
- Maintain, manage, and oversee requests for proposals (RFP’s) and construction bid solicitations
- Track and continuously maintain bid board and coordinate walkthroughs
- Review mechanical design documents, specifications, and performances
- Develop construction estimates through computerized tools
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of mechanical system components and their function
- Communicate and develop relationships with peer estimators, vendors, and soliciting customers
- Collect and complete project pre-qualifications
- Prioritize estimating effort managing deadlines and coordinate to meet expectations
- Take an active role in training and developing junior estimators and engineers
- Perform all other duties assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Self-motivated and proactive to take initiative working in a fast-paced environment and handling competing demands
- Ability to work under minimal supervision/direction as well as part of a team and sharing information with others
- Commitment to continuous learning
- Dedication to the success of both external and internal customers
- Willingness to be a team player and help with whatever needs to be done
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage stressful situations and demanding customers with poise
- Servant leadership by doing everything possible to make life easier for internal and external customers
