JOB DESCRIPTION

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE

· Quantity Surveyor/Geospatial Technician

· Responsible for producing pre-bid take-offs, original ground and topographical maps, and conducting volume analysis using advanced software

· Perform qualitative surveys, job progress flights, video clips and jobsite photos

· Understanding of UAV data collection, GNSS systems, coordinate systems, and basic survey knowledge

· Ability to quickly learn new leading-edge technology and hardware

· Strong computer, communication, and professional skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and schedule one’s time to meet tight deadlines

· Following all FAA guidelines to ensure each location can be flown as scheduled, in a safe manner

· Position will most likely be 50% in the field performing surveys and 50% in the office processing/calculating information

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

· College Degree preferred

· Current Driver License & clean MVR

· Minimum 1 years construction surveying experience

· Heavy Civil construction experience preferred

· Ability to obtain FAA Drone Pilots License within 90 days

· Experience with Autodesk – AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus

CERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of survey methods and ability to apply them to uploading/downloading survey files

· Knowledge of civil construction plans with ability to extract data necessary to perform work

· Ability to perform mathematic operations using units of measurement for distance, area, slopes and profile grades with a general understanding of algebra, trigonometry and geometry
