  • Job Title: Media Director
  • Level & Responsibility: This role is Director level, with responsibility over the leadership and development of a brand new Media Services team. 
  • Salary: $146,000 per annum , depending on experience, and our discretionary bonus.
  • Location & Hybrid Working: We have an office in New York for applicants to take advantage of and use to meet with the wider team and our clients, however this is not a requirement for the role and we welcome applicants from across North America.

The role

We are looking for a Media Director to join our Threefold agencyIn this role, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of Threefold’s North American Media Services team, setting up this capability and function from the ground up. This responsibility will be all encompassing from strategy and proposition ownership to running our media operations.

Why you?

In line with our company values, within your role you'll want to stay honest, stay hungry, stay foolish, and most importantly, have fun! We are looking for an experienced hire at Director level who can demonstrate proactive leadership of the creation of our US Media services offering. Previous experience in Programmatic and Paid Social is essential, ideally with both strategy and operational (in platform) experience. Experience in Retail Media / Commerce Advertising is advantageous. 

More specifically, you'll have / be:

  • A proven track record in delivering business growth in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Practical, analytical and visionary expertise – with the ability to think big picture but dive into detail when required.
  • Experience of developing data-driven performance advertising solutions for CPGs & brands.
  • The ability to handle ambiguity and the demands that setting up a new capability in a new market bring.
  • A proven track record in influencing multiple senior stakeholders (both internal and external) to deliver breakthrough results and the ability to make the
    complex RMN world “simple” especially when talking to non-Media experts.
  • Coaching and development of a high performing team. 
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to work seamlessly with data & financial reporting.

What you'll be doing

We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:

  • Strategy and proposition ownership – defining, building the roadmap and developing market-leading 1st party data-led advertising solutions for CPG & brand advertisers that leverage our retail partners’ USPs to attract incremental advertising investment across offsite inventory. This includes leading highly visible, fast-paced projects to get new advertising capabilities off the ground, from scratch.
  • Commercial leadership – being accountable for our NA paid media revenue streams, seeking ways to maximize profitability for both Threefold and our retail partners, and growing income sustainably.
  • Organization leadership – building the right team to win as we scale the business – and managing this team accordingly. You will need to constantly assess what skills, structure and talent we need as we rapidly expand our RMN networks. Once we have the team in place, you will define the direction and agenda of where they focus their time, creating and managing their workplans, building their capability and owning their career management.
  • Partner management - building and leading relationships with a range of media owners (e.g. Meta, The Trade Desk, Google, Stratacache) and Ad Tech partners (e.g. Criteo, LiveRamp, Infosum), ensuring we create trusted, collaborative relationships that are commercially-beneficial for all.
  • Campaign planning – building detailed, data-led media plans for clients using third-party and in-house tools, focusing on determining the optimum use for
    their media budgets.
  • Advertising operations - overseeing the buying, execution and optimization of paid media campaigns, to ensure a smooth delivery and seamless client
    experience.
  • Go-to-market & media consultancy support - presenting our media capabilities to a range of both new and developed clients and senior stakeholders
    (including directly to advertisers, as well as their agencies), in addition to providing advice and guidance as the media (& technical) expert on these services.
  • Marketing and PR – working with our Marketing Team to maximize visibility of this new service area and promoting relevant, engaging content that positively
    disrupts the industry and attending/speaking at leading events.
  • Wider agency capability building - playing a role in building the Media capability across the NA Threefold team, ensuring that everyone at all levels has the
    right capability to win within their field of work.
