Progage is a closely held manufacturing business focused on the custom design and manufacture of dimensional inspection systems for the aerospace and gas turbine industry. Our company has been creating unique measurement solutions for our clients for 38 years.

We are a Tool Room for our customers. We Design & Manufacture precision Fixtures, Gages, and Machines to confirm the dimensional accuracy of their parts. Our tools are built to tolerances of ±.0005", using your parts that are often ground to ±.0002". Our customers are the Quality Control departments of major manufacturers, so our products need to be PERFECT!

The Machinist Trainee will select stock for a part, saw the stock from a bar or plate, and square the stock to prepare for further machining. You will use calipers, micrometers, scales, and other hand measuring tools. If you demonstrate the necessary aptitude and work responsibility, you can advance through internal and external training.

The primary tools in this position are manual knee mills, manual Horizontal Mill, Belt Sanders, and Band saws (Horizontal & Vertical). The Manual Machinist must learn to quickly read shop prints and machine parts "square". You will be exposed to all the manufacturing operations in the plant, allowing you to learn about the other possibilities available.

The fully qualified Machinist, Trainee, at the top end of the pay scale, would have these skills:

• A minimum of 1 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• A minimum of 2 year technical degree.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and scales.

Less qualified candidates will be considered for an Entry Level Manual Machinist position. More qualified Manual Machinists may be placed in more senior roles.

This is a full time, first shift, permanent position. You will work in a clean, well equipped shop. Compensation includes overtime, vacation, health benefits, paid holidays, 401K, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
