We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced roadway estimator to join our team at Pittman Construction. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for providing support in areas of roadway, heavy civil, and other construction based projects. The estimating task will involve hard bid estimates for concrete and paving, road widening, drainage lines, road re-construction and dirt work throughout the State of Georgia.
Essential responsibilities:
*reviewing proposal specifications and drawings and attending pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate 
*proficiency preparing estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, and equipment costs and applying them to the complete scope of work
*reviewing/researching historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, reports, etc.) and compiling summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
*incorporating historical data into unit and man-hour figures
*actively participating in developing bid package estimate documents 
*proficiently maintaining files of working documents for backup to estimating figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
*creating, sending, and managing subcontractor requests for proposal
*reviewing design options and recommending the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials 
*following awarded contracts as assigned- may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc.
*perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
*Bachelors degree in engineering or construction management OR equivalent experience 
*minimum 2 years civil, heavy highway estimating experience involving concrete and/or asphalt paving, road widening, drainage lines, road reconstruction and road dirt work
*minimum 2 years experience of hard bid experience 
*minimum 2 years of estimator and/or combination of project engineer and estimating road construction 
*ability to pass DMV background check
*valid drivers license
