New Columbia Solar is Hiring an Associate Project Manager (Commercial Solar) Near Washington, DC

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Development Team in the successful management and completion of commercial solar projects by ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met throughout the life of the project. They should be able to keep track of multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development and construction. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Development. It is expected that someone in this position will eventually move into a Project Management role and lead multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Work as a member of a cross-functioning team to design and install commercial solar projects in Washington, D.C metropolitan area.
  • Accompany supervisor(s) on utility site visits to plan interconnection processes for projects.
  • Ensure projects meet their milestone deadlines by actively problem solving.
  • Assist Project Manager with database management and administrative details.
  • Coordinate site visits with clients, contractors, utilities and AHJs.
  • Track and manage project budgets.
  • Draft essential projects documents such as: feasibility reports, notice of final designs, scopes of work, and change orders.
  • Help with the permitting and application submission and overview for utility and regulatory agencies.
  • Register finished projects for SRECs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Positive attitude with the ability to manage a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in industry relevant field or work in the renewables industry
  • Ability to coordinate interdepartmentally to influence effective outcomes and problem solve with others.
  • Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
  • Open-minded and curious to learn in an ever-evolving industry.
  • High interpersonal intelligence with good oral and written communication.
  • Team player with that can also work autonomously.
  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S. and pass a background check.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience in solar project management.
  • Familiarity with solar policy and regulations.
  • Experience with Sitetracker, Salesforce or any other CRM.
  • CAPM, NABCEP PV Associate or Installation Professional Certification.
