Mobile Engineer, Otter - US/CAN

Otter provides infrastructure and software that enables food operators to open delivery-only locations with minimal capital expenditure and time. We're taking restaurants to a whole new place. Our software assists our customers in all stages of their food business, from onboarding via a turn-key solution to our ghost kitchens to managing their delivery services and business all in one platform. What you'll do
We are looking for Android Software Engineers to build elegant products on world-class technologies that bring our experience to millions of restaurateurs, anytime and anywhere.

• You will develop an advanced new POS system with modern Android technologies.
• Produce high-quality code by leading or contributing to projects that impact and drive business success.
• Actively own features or systems and define their long-term health, keeping scalability at the forefront of technical designs.
• Assist our skilled operations and business teams in triaging and resolving production issues.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to conceptualize and build new features for our growing customer base.
• Improve our engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

What we're looking for

• You have 10 years of experience developing large-scale Kotlin Android applications that had multiple teams working on a shared code base.
• You have experience with Android platform projects and infrastructure, not required but a plus.
• You have experience defining technical requirements & leading multi-team projects.
• You are familiar with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• You have strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development, or a related field
• A love for good food.

This role is based in our Los Angeles office location. We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we're in the marketplace of ideas and innovation.
