Department of Surgery at Upstate University Hospital is hiring.

If you’re interested in joining The Department of Surgery and want to become part of an exceptional team that ensures quality service to patients and their families, assist with patient arrival/departure, including registration and appointment scheduling as well as other administrative inquiries then these positions may be for you.

Our open positions will include job responsibilities such as:

• EPIC EMR Health System.
• Scheduling initial appointments / follow up appointments & procedures
• Tracking new patient referrals
• Obtain (pre) Insurance Authorizations for surgical cases both at university Hospital & outside facilities
• Processing new patient referral & triaging based on medical necessity.
• Experience with both Word & Excel preferred
• Attend various meetings
• Downloading/Uploading Medical Images within applications
• Chart Abstraction/Prep
• Provide cross coverage as directed by Supervisor/Manager

Associate degree or pertinent college level courses and two – three years of administrative/office experience required, as specified within the job posting. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
