Nassau Humane Society is looking for a part-time Veterinary Technician for our brand new Mobile Spay Neuter Clinic and shelter medical department! We are seeking a self-motivated and hard working employee who does well with organization and time-management. Three years of Veterinary/Surgery Technician experience or Certification is preferred but not required. Must be comfortable in a surgery setting in a small space. Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Patient Care: Provide compassionate and skilled care to animals under the supervision of veterinarians.
• Assistance in Procedures: Assist veterinarians during medical procedures, surgeries, and diagnostic imaging.
• Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs of patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
• Client Communication: Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies, providing immediate assistance and support as needed.
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless operations and optimal patient care.
• Self-motivated and work well with others.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
