Shop floor manufacturing position

Toolmaker / Moldmaker Job Responsibilities:

• Working from solid models and prints to build, revise, and maintain plastic injection molds and die cast dies.
• Build and/or revise complex machined fabrications such as custom work holding fixtures etc.
• Follows work instructions, (verbal and/or written) blueprints, programming sheets, and/or samples to ensure accurate production of components.
• Set up and operate manual toolroom equipment.
• Set up and operate toolmaker CNC equipment with conversational programming.
• Measure, evaluate, and document manufactured components.
• Complete all final hand work on components.
• Complete all tasks required in fitting and assembling a mold.
• Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the mold build and work with team to maintain the schedules.
• Identifies the need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Misc. tasks assigned by Manager.

Work Hours & Benefits:

This is a full-time, on-site position. Hours are based upon company workload, but the expectation is to match the posted hours for the shop floor.

A semi-flexible start time (6:00am – 8:00am or 2:00pm – 4:00). Standard Mo-Tech full time benefits with an opportunity for a team performance bonus.

Pay: DOQ.

Toolmaker / Moldmaker Qualifications/Skills:

• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of molding & casting process.
• Good project management skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Good critical thought processes and decision making skills.
• Understanding of complex work holding equipment & methods.
• Proficient in math.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic precision bench measurement skills.
• Basic CAD & CAM knowledge.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Technical degree for Machine and Toolmaking trades.
• Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assemblies.
• Working knowledge of safety protocols.
• Apprenticeship or minimum of 3 years of experience.
