Motion Metalworks is Hiring a Body Technician Near Wrens, GA

Job Summary:
Motion Metalworks is a contract metal fabrications manufacturer and powder coater operating out of a 125,000 square foot facility in Wrens, GA. Our plant features the latest manufacturing technology including a 6000-watt fiber laser, abrasive waterjet, robotic welding cell, CNC tube bending machines, CNC press brakes, Virtek 3D laser scanner, Faro Arm and various CNC machining tools. We have an automated 6 stage wash and powder coat system onsite giving us the ability to provide high quality, durable, custom powder coat finishes.

The owners have a well-equipped automotive fab shop on-site and are searching for a talented, experienced, and motivated body technician to grow with us. This unique opportunity will allow the right candidate to combine the best in manufacturing technologies with established coachbuilding practices to build premium turn-key hot rods, bikes, and muscle cars.

This person will be a self-starting individual and will be able to work with minimal supervision once a direction is established. A passion for this work is a must. We are looking for the right individual, we are not looking to fill a position.

Job Requirements:

· Work on multiple automobile projects at any given time

· Provide High-quality bodywork from epoxy priming to finish-sanding, in preparation for final paint

· Operate our dustless blasting system during paint stripping

· Oversee prep station and department maintenance and cleaning to ensure that the bodywork facility is in perfect working order

· Maintain a clean work space in the body shop

· Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of body shop products

· Follow all established procedures and best practices to maintain a high degree of quality within the department

· Coordinate daily output and schedule of body and paint department, including projects coming from fab and going to paint

· Follow established safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment

· Utilize body tools and paint spray equipment along with proper personal protective equipment in the application of paint materials to surfaces, without defects such as runs, drips, or sags

· Apply a variety of materials ranging from solvent-based automotive finishes to waterborne basecoats

· Precisely measure and mix paint and other materials

· Record labor and materials accurately for multiple projects

· Work closely with suppliers to order necessary materials

· Provide technical assistance to other body technicians and to painter(s) in the paint department

Qualifications:

· Exacting attention to detail

· A passion for auto construction and restoration

· 5 years experience in custom bodywork

· Painting experience is a plus

· Experience with general sheet metal layout, forming, and fabrication with hand and power tools is a plus

· Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace

· Ability to solve problems

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to interact with customers on phone, email, and in person

· Valid Driver’s License

Education Requirements:

· HS Diploma or equivalent

· High School Diploma preferred.

· Technical School Diploma preferred or 3-5 years practical experience in a custom/restoration shop.

· Basic math skills and ability to use digital scale in mixing custom paint colors.

· Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Other:

· Location – Wrens, GA

· Status – Full Time. 4 10 hour days

· Team environment

· Travel – possibly some travel to trade/car shows as required

· Tools – Must own personal tools required for daily routine. Large/power tools provided.

· Compensation Package – commensurate with experience and abilities.
