Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor in Elementary Education
- Ability to obtain ACSI certification within one year of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's teaching degree or higher (K-8/K-5/)
- Teaching certificate
- ACSI Certified
Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom instruction and build student and parent relationships from a Christian perspective
- Ensure academic progress in every student using various modes of instruction
- Build partnership with parents through proactive communication
- Create an organized, predictable, and positive classroom environment
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans to help students meet learning objectives
- Remain current and organized on daily classroom responsibilities: grading; record keeping; attendance; and lesson planning
- Maintain neat and pleasant classroom
- Adhere to biblical standards in all areas of conduct
- Positive support of LCS’s policies and practices
- Work collaboratively in a professional Christian school
- Able to use strong written and oral communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable in dealing with challenges
- Maintain confidentiality and security of information
- Hold yourself and others accountable
- Teachable - willing to receive constructive feedback
- Effective time management in organizing multiple tasks and activities
- Attend school events outside regular school hours including, but not limited to: parent/teacher conferences; arts performances; student socials; open houses; professional development sessions; and fundraising events
Physical Requirements
- Requires standing for long periods of time
- Able to make visual and auditory evaluation of student work and performance
