Learning Alliance Corporation is Hiring an Academic Case Manager Near Tampa, FL

The Academic Case Manager for Job Placement and Resume Services plays a pivotal role in assisting students in their transition from academic life to the professional world. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive support to students seeking employment opportunities, including resume building, job search strategies, interview preparation, and career counseling. The Academic Case Manager serves as a liaison between students, academic departments, and potential employers to facilitate successful job placements.

Responsibilities:

  • Individualized Career Counseling: Provide one-on-one guidance to students to assess their career interests, skills, and goals. Assist students in developing personalized career plans and strategies.
  • Resume Development: Offer expertise in crafting professional resumes tailored to the individual strengths and career objectives of students. Provide feedback and suggestions for resume enhancement to ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Job Search Assistance: Conduct workshops and seminars on effective job search techniques, including networking, online job portals, and employment agencies. Guide students in utilizing resources such as career fairs, alumni networks, and informational interviews.
  • Employer Outreach and Networking: Cultivate relationships with employers, industry professionals, and alumni to identify job opportunities and internships for students. Coordinate employer visits, recruitment events, and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Interview Preparation: Prepare students for job interviews through mock interviews, behavioral coaching, and confidence-building exercises. Offer guidance on appropriate attire, body language, and communication skills.
  • Career Development Workshops: Develop and deliver workshops on topics such as professional etiquette, negotiation skills, and career advancement strategies. Provide information on industry trends, emerging job markets, and post-graduate education options.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student interactions, career assessments, and job placement outcomes. Generate reports to track student progress, trends in employment, and employer feedback.
  • Collaboration and Advocacy: Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty members, and campus departments to integrate career development initiatives into the curriculum. Advocate for the career-related needs of students and provide support for diverse populations, including international students, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, higher education administration, career services, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in career counseling, job placement, or human resources within an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of career development theories, assessment tools, and employment trends across various industries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and build relationships with students, faculty, employers, and community partners.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and workshop facilitation.
  • Proficiency in utilizing career assessment tools, resume software, and online job search platforms.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles to support a diverse student population.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
