Logistics Manager

Department: Shipping FLSA: To Be Determined

Reports To: Department Manager Supervises: Shipping & Warehouse Team Members

Position Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met based on forecast and supplier managed inventories. Manage shipping team to ensure efficient flow of material while maintaining safe working environment.

General Qualifications

Education/Knowledge:

· High school graduate or equivalent

· College education preferred

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

· Interpersonal communication skills

Experience (required and preferred):

· General export documentation knowledge

· 3 - 5 years Logistics experience

· Previous experience managing team members

· DOT certified for shipment of hazardous material

Skills (required and preferred):

· Strong communication skills

· Ability to interact with plant production areas

· Multitask in fast paced environment

· ISO 9000/14000 experience

· Work within guide lines of FIFO system

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Manual dexterity is necessary. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.

Essential Functions

· Communicate daily/as needed with customers to ensure on time and quality deliveries

· Works to maintain a FIFO System, optimizing inventories and maintaining aged inventory reports keeping aged inventory minimized.

· Complete mandated OSHA/ISO training for direct reports

· Schedule production area based on customer requirements and inventory needs

· Housekeeping and organization

· Select product from inventory for shipments

· Maintain sufficient product inventories

· Work with transportation companies to meet shipping needs

· Administer discipline as needed to ensure company rules and guidelines are followed

· Communicate with corporate office

· Work closely with various departments such as quality assurance, customer service and corporate office to maintain good customer relations.

Additional Responsibilities

· Assists with monthly inventories

· Performs the functions of shipping team members when necessary

· Performs other duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
