- Procure inventory, supplies, and capital goods for production processes.
- Work with accounts payable and receiving teams to resolve any invoice and/or shipment discrepancies.
- Participate in cross functional teams to develop strategies to source assigned commodity-based items at the lowest total cost of ownership.
- Participate in quarterly supplier scorecard process.
- Solicit quotes for new and existing materials as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with planning, engineering, sales, production, on status of material critical for production process.
- Provide regular updates and/or reports to - management staff on cost improvements and new technologies or services.
- Follow up regularly with suppliers to ensure part availability, expediting as required.
- Analyze data and propose/implement process improvements that reduce waste.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for purchasing components.
- Purchase and monitor an assigned category of inventory.
- Negotiate prices, leverage buys, and analyze purchasing reports to reduce inventory and purchase a quality product at the best possible price.
- Manage inventory of purchased items required to fulfill the needs purchased.
- Manage and minimize excess/obsolete inventory.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools and strategies to reduce inventory while increasing delivery.
- Maintain integrity of ERP data and maintain accuracy of inventory transactions throughout entire planning and purchasing process.
- Improve fill rates, quality, lead times and needs while monitoring and tracking delivery performance.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or related field)
- Position typically expects three (3) to five (5) years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position; previous experience buy pipe/fitting/ and or engineering parts/fixtures a plus
- Technical purchasing and sourcing skills;
- Relies on clearly defined instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job;
- Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with change;
- Self-motivated and self-managing individual;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must be able to calculate and analyze financial data such as ROI, Make vs. Buy, and other commercial requirements;
- Must be able to multitask;
- Microsoft Office Suite and other PC skills; Experience with EPICOR/ Vantage is a PLUS
- Prior experience in Manufacturing is a Plus.
