Volunteer Athletic Coach - Various sports (Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, etc)
Primary Responsibility: To coach designated sport teams and create a positive learning environment where children learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, and responsibility.
Supervised by: Youth Programs Coordinator

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a role model for youth in a sports program focused on sportsmanship, fun, skill development and character development.
• Develop enjoyable and creative practice plans for youth participants.
• Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants.
• Enforce program rules and department policies; provide conflict resolution and behavior management when necessary.
• Attend all mandatory trainings and workshops.
• Be accountable and prepared for all practices and games including equipment management and parent communication.
• Report any problems with fields, equipment, player behavior, parent behavior, or officials to the Youth Programs Coordinator.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Knowledgeable in the specific sport preferred.
• Ability to work and communicate well with children and adults.
• Be available at the times when games, practices, and meetings are held.
• Must pass background check.

Experience:

• Experience working with children and adults of various ages preferred.
• Experience in the specific sport preferred.
