General Summary: A Doctor of Chiropractic must work as a clinical leader of the rehabilitation team to provide physical medicine and rehabilitation services under the clinical direction and supervision of the Medical Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. A Chiropractor interprets prescriptions from physicians and/or non-physician providers, evaluates patients, and develops individualized plans of care and goals for patients based on findings from the evaluations. A Chiropractor also initiates treatments according to the plans of care, obtains data related to the interventions provided, makes modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort, and documents in a timely and accurate manner the treatments given to patients, including collecting frequent subjective data and objective measurements and correlating them to the established goals in the plan of care.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Technician(s): clinical supervision (non-administrative), as needed for quality patient care.
General Requirements: All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Education and Training: Doctoral degree (DC.) Must be licensed to practice in Texas. National Board Exams I, II, Ill, IV, Physiotherapy, State Board Exam, Chiropractic License, and Licensed as a chiropractor with at least 2-4 years of experience preferred. Previous supervisory/management experience preferred. CPR certification with AED is required and must be kept current.
Experience: 2-4 years’ experience preferred.
Other Requirements: Computer Skills: Skilled in use of computer/EMR systems. Knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, Internet, and database software.
Work Environment: Clinic environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Mental / Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.
