WHO WE ARE

Established in 2005, Girl & Dug Farm started in an 8-acre cucumber farm as "Lucky Growers" after founders Brian and Agnes Choi were lovingly pushed out of their prior flower business by their children who wanted them to enjoy retirement. Obsessive and hungry for strange produce, Brian and Agnes' son Aaron succeeded them in 2009 and began curating unique varieties of veggies for some of the most influential restaurants, one Chef at a time. And so became "Girl & Dug Farm," a nod to his daughters and their lovable overweight beagle Dug, and the singular mission to make game-changing ingredients easily accessible and approachable for every kitchen.

Today, we farm a total of approximately 180 acres and employ about 100 workers, serving our unique offerings to chefs nationwide including the top Michelin-starred restaurants in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York. Our “Lucky Growers” brand serves nearly all Korean retail markets in the US through retail partners and distributors.

We promote food diversity, practice responsible farming techniques, and cultivate lasting partnerships with the world’s best Chefs because who transform one-of-a-kind raw ingredients into eye opening flavors are all inseparable threads of weaving the future of food and farming.

We believe products are only as good as the company behind them, and companies are only as good as the employees that comprise them. Healthy relationships are the key to community and to that end, everything we do as a company places reasonable priority on building, maintaining, and nurturing relationships, be it internally among fellow workers or externally with our customers.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESTABLISH: Cultivate personable relationships with clientele, working with management to convert key prospects.

DEVELOP: Research these accounts’ concept and vision; their menu; and their immediate future needs in order to clearly identify where they and Girl & Dug mutually align, paving a path to serve them.

MAINTAIN: Nurture existing accounts to ensure target customer satisfaction levels, consistent availability of product and/or timely notification of shorts/viable subs. Check in frequently, meaningfully, and never obtrusively.

NETWORK: Grow a network of contacts within the restaurant community in order to help grow awareness of and presence of our brand.

COMMUNICATION: With our logistics/customer service/marketing team, openly and regularly 1) relay customers’ feedback in order to resolve quality issues and follow up with customers; and 2) review inventory data, promotional info, upcoming items, etc. in order to relay that information back to our clientele.

ANALYZE: Create/maintain a system in which daily/weekly progress can be documented and reviewed/analyzed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School diploma.
  • Preferred: Associates or Bachelor degree

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in a sales role required
  • At least 2 years of experience within the food industry required

Skills

  • Deep understanding and appreciation for the workings of a restaurant, especially the role of a chef.
  • Deploy a variety of sales techniques in order to make and close deals.
  • Business-scaling oriented sales and client-care approach.
  • Dependable and team-oriented while being able to work independently.
  • Strong and clear interpersonal communication: negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Strong analytical skills: problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in MS Office/Google Suite and CRM/Sales Management software.
  • Ability to travel extensively as required by the position.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Outlook.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
