Are you passionate about hospitality? Do you love camping and the outdoors? We are now accepting applications for Night Camp Hosts at our luxury campground in Ithaca, NY from May through October. A cross between a front desk agent and a mountain guide, you will be checking in guests, recommending itineraries of things to do, lighting real fires, putting out metaphorical ones, and basically be running camp.

Duties and responsibilities

Our night camp hosts are responsible for taking ownership of our campgrounds and running the evening operations. Imagine all the nuances involved in providing a luxury hotel experience. This is an amazing opportunity and we love to encourage our staff to bring their own unique talents to put on display for our guests.

Elements of daily operations include but are not limited to:

• Hours will be roughly 8pm to 1am
• Interact with guests and make recommendations for things to do in and around Ithaca.
• Serve drinks, sodas and sell retail items such as s'mores and t-shirts.
• Enter retail sales into the system and close out the cash drawer each evening.
• Handle the check-in process for late arrivals.
• Monitor outdoor fire pit areas and replenish fires with additional wood.
• Oversee camp security and ensure a quiet, serene, safe environment for our guests and deal with issues or emergencies if and when they arise.
• Ensure the tidiness of the lobby and lounge tents and fire pit areas.
• Take out the trash, recycling, and compost.
• Run glassware through a commercial dishwasher.
• Be a brand ambassador for Firelight Camps.
• Assist the company with and other tasks as required.

Knowledge, abilities, skill sets and requirements

• Bright and friendly demeanor with a love for customer service.
• Willingness to 'get your hands dirty' taking out the trash, running dishes, and driving a golf cart.
• Willingness to work alone late into the evenings.
• Prior customer service and/or hotel experience a plus.
• Basic computer literacy to run credit cards and cash sales.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Must have own transportation to arrive at 1150 Danby Road, Ithaca.
• Most shifts will be from 10:00pm to 3:00am.
• This position is part time and can be up to 5 days a week.
