Laminated Parts Machine Operator (x2) - Hourly

DEPARTMENT: Laminated Parts

1st Shift: Mon. Fri. / 5:00A – 1:30P

Reports to Laminated Parts Supervisor.

Laminated Parts Machine Operator JOB PURPOSE: Operates presses and ensures they run continuously throughout the shift.

Laminated Parts Machine Operator JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Machine operation including changeovers of machinery to create laminated parts.
• Gives minimal direction to fabricators to ensure machines continue running.
• Works with the Machine Operator XT and LP Supervisor when material is running low.
• Follows supervisor’s schedule to complete jobs on time.
• Read orders and carry out essential functions of the job without much supervision.
• Produces quality checks on work and assists in resolution of quality problems and returned products.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, equipment and keeps track of stocked material levels.
• Suggests process improvements and is a change agent, following through when change is necessary.
• Participates in cycle counts, as needed.
• Works at different workstations as production needs require and as directed by the supervisor.

Laminated Parts Machine Operator JOB PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Language skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
• Mathematical skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
• Reasoning Ability. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Laminated Parts Machine Operator Course work or equivalent experience:

• One year machine operator work experience and/or training preferred.

Experience: The average person with the required knowledge and experience is expected to learn to perform the functions of the job at a fully functioning level of proficiency within 1-3 months.
