As a Drivers Intervention Program Manager, you would be responsible for overseeing and managing a program aimed at addressing and correcting the behavior of drivers who have been involved in traffic violations, OVI (Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated) offenses, or other related incidents.

Here are some key responsibilities and tasks associated with this role:

  1. Program Development: Designing and developing the Drivers Intervention Program with the Program Director, including defining its objectives, curriculum, and intervention strategies. The program may include classroom education, workshops, counseling sessions, and other activities to address specific driving issues.
  2. Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring the program complies with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines set by local, state, or federal authorities. You may need to work closely with law enforcement agencies, courts, and other stakeholders.
  3. Participant Screening: Assessing drivers' eligibility to participate in the program based on their driving offenses and other criteria. This involves reviewing driving records and conducting interviews to determine their suitability for the program.
  4. Staff Management: Overseeing a team of instructors, counselors, and support staff who deliver the intervention program. Ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to carry out their roles effectively.
  5. Curriculum Implementation: Implementing the intervention curriculum effectively, using evidence-based practices and materials to address specific driving issues and promote safe driving behaviors.
  6. Data Collection and Evaluation: Monitoring and collecting data on the program's effectiveness and outcomes. Analyzing this data to assess the impact of interventions on participants' driving behavior and safety records.
  7. Participant Support: Providing support and guidance to program participants throughout their involvement, including addressing their concerns and helping them overcome challenges related to the program.
  8. Reporting and Communication: Preparing regular reports for stakeholders, such as government agencies, courts, and community organizations, to demonstrate the program's effectiveness and compliance.
  9. Collaborations and Partnerships: Establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders, such as law enforcement agencies, traffic safety organizations, insurance companies, and community groups to strengthen the program's impact and reach.
  10. Program Promotion: Engaging in outreach and promotional activities to raise awareness about the program and its benefits, encouraging eligible drivers to participate voluntarily.
  11. Present educational material to participants when scheduled, this may include weekend hours.
  12. Available for program questions and concerns by staff and participants
  13. Oversight of food services
  14. Reviewing contract and employee hours worked
  15. Assist with scheduling issues for staff.

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong organizational and communication skills, a good understanding of traffic laws and safety measures, and the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals who may have varying levels of commitment and motivation to change their driving behaviors.
