* The Student Transition Associate Residency candidate, working under the supervision of a Registered nurse, and the California Nurse Practice Act as well as evidence-based standards of care, to provide basic care to patients and assist professional nurses with compiles patient care up to the validated level of training

* Education
* Required: Enrolled full time in an accredited ADN, BSN , or direct entry MSN program; Have completed their first semester of an ADN, BSN or direct entry MSN program
* Required: Submit a copy of most recent transcript; GPA of 3.0 or higher required
* Licensure/Certification
* Required: American Heart Association BLS
* Experience
* Required: Submit 1 professional reference letter
* Essential Responsibilities
* Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
* Adheres to the evidence-based standards of care and standards of practice, policies and procedures of the hospital and the Department of Nursing.
* Provide safe, effective patient care including but not limited to ADLs, mobility and safety concerns.
* Assist patients with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, feeding, elimination, positioning and bed linen changes.
* Assists with admitting, discharging, transferring and transporting patients.
* Obtains and accurately documents pertinent patient information including but not limited to vital signs, weights, Inputs and Outputs, oxygen saturation, care observation and reports all abnormalities to the RN in a timely manner.
* In a courteous manner instructs patients in various basic procedures and communicated effectively with the patient and family members. Provides encouragement, support and comfort to patients and family members.
* Monitors, records and communicates patient condition utilizing computerized documentation.
* Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
* Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
* Prioritize tasks and job assignments.
* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* To research and coordinate information and distribute accordingly.
* Understands the various procedures within the department.
* Maintain and foster a collaborative relationship with peers.
* Maintain enrollment in a nursing program.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
