Coastal Bend Eye Center is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Corpus Christi, TX

Ophthalmic Tech's needed for busy weekend ophthalmology/optometry clinic.

Skills and Functions:

  • Communication and interaction with patients of all ages, many of our patients are hard of hearing or use mobility aids; patience, respect, and courtesy are essential soft skills
  • Basic Ophthalmic Work Up: Vision, Pressure, Dilation, History
  • Computer Skills - data entry into EMR - accuracy is vital
  • Equipment Skills - testing equipment includes auto refractor, OCT, VF, Phoropter Manual Refracting, Retinal Camera, and more
  • Punctuality - must be able to arrive at 7:50am for 8:00am shift reliably (mall hours vary)
  • Hygiene and Appearance
  • Spanish or ASL, not required but is a plus
  • Travel to satellites when needed
  • All 2024 hires will work Saturdays and rotating Sundays
  • Pay range reflects skill level and ability to work independently

UPDATE: We may have opportunities in Alice, Kingsville, and Beeville as well as the Corpus Christi locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
